Football’s hottest young couple set to take relationship to next level with red carpet debut

Harley Reid and childhood sweetheart Yasmin Duursma are planning to take their relationship to the next level by making their Brownlow Medal red carpet debut together this week.
Rumours about Reid’s relationship with the Carlton AFLW star began circulating in March, when the two were spotted kissing together.
The couple went public with their romance over Easter, with Duursma posting a cheeky TikTok of the new couple.
Now Duursma, who was friends with Reid as a child, has spoken openly about the relationship.
“We met when he was 12 and I was 13, and he and my brother have been friends ever since, as have Harley and I,” she said. News Corp.
‘When I came back from Adelaide and it was on the cards, we decided to give it a go and start talking and dating.
‘Then he ended up getting sent to the West Coast and he moved, but we thought we could give it a shot and keep going.
“It’s not that hard to be honest. They play quite a lot in Melbourne so I see him a lot more than I expected. It’s nice.”

The young couple are childhood friends who met through football.
Reid, who played football with Yasmin’s brother, also spoke about the new relationship as the couple prepare to walk the red carpet on Monday night.
“They are a very talented family and I was lucky enough to play with Zane during my junior years and to know Yas for a while,” he said.
‘My first year has given me some great opportunities and I am keen to stay involved and continue to strive to improve. It will be a great opportunity to experience my first Brownlow with Yas.’
Reid made headlines last year as the AFL’s No. 1 draft pick after being selected by West Coast as the country’s best young talent.
The 18-year-old Victorian midfielder, who hails from Tongala in Victoria’s Goulburn Valley region, is perhaps the most hyped draft player in history and is seen by many recruiters as a generational talent.
The teenage star has had to defend himself throughout the year amid speculation he was unhappy about the move across the country.

“It was quite annoying sometimes when they said that and they hadn’t even met you yet,” Reid said.
“I’m wearing it (the Eagles jersey) now so hopefully it’s clear that I want to go out there and get on with it.”
He is prepared for the instant celebrity status that will fall on his young shoulders.
“It’s part of the journey, I think, and it’s pretty humbling, but it’s also motivating to be a superstar, to earn the respect of your teammates,” Reid said.
‘There is a great young core group there with a lot of experience.
‘There’s a lot of history behind that club as well, so I’d like to be there and hopefully have an influence on the club and help them get back to the top.’
West Coast flew cult figure Nic Naitanui to Melbourne to present Reid with his new jersey.
Naitanui was handed the number 9 guernsey, which he and fellow Eagles player Ben Cousins wore throughout their illustrious careers.
