Watch the horrific moment cars crash head on in Sydney Harbour Bridge carnage, as two die and mum-to-be is rushed to hospital

Gruesome footage has emerged of the head-on collision that killed two drivers on the Sydney Harbor Bridge.

Four cars and a bus collided just before 2pm on Thursday, with emergency services arriving on the scene and finding a dead man among the wreckage.

The male driver of another vehicle – who died at the scene a short time later – had to be freed from the wreckage by firefighters.

Fortunately, the bus had no passengers on board and the driver was unharmed.

Dashcam footage of a car traveling north, obtained exclusively by Daily Mail Australia, captured the entire crash.

The vision shows a blue Hyundai i30 hatchback driving in the outer lane before suddenly drifting into oncoming traffic.

For a few horrifying seconds, the course did not change.

He then collided head-on with a silver Mercedes, which spun out of control and crashed into a bus before rear-ending into oncoming traffic.

The blue hatchback then collided head-on with a Hyundai Accent hatchback before it was briefly thrown into the air by the impact.

Then it spun 180 degrees and came to a stop.

The entire front section was completely crumpled as smoke billowed from the destroyed engine.

Two other adults, including a pregnant woman, suffered minor injuries and were rushed to Royal North Shore Hospital where they remained in stable condition.

The two other drivers involved will undergo mandatory testing, police said.

Scrap metal, broken glass and liquid from the crash littered both sides of the road

Police later arrested a motorcyclist who allegedly broke the roadblock and drove through the accident scene (pictured)

All southbound traffic on the bridge came to a standstill and only one northbound lane remained open, causing traffic chaos in the city Thursday afternoon.

A view from the Harbor Bridge showed two hatchbacks and an SUV with extensive damage, as well as debris scattered across several lanes.

Police are now working to notify the next of kin of both victims.

A motorcyclist was arrested on the bridge after allegedly breaking the roadblock and driving through the accident scene.

At least three officers were seen pinning the motorcyclist to the ground within view of the bridge which was captured by nearby motorists.

“A gentleman riding a motorcycle entered the scene in an attempt to pass by and cross the bridge,” Chief Inspector Clayton McDonald McDonald told reporters.

‘That gentleman drove towards the police who were in front of him and were able to stop him.’

The incident left one police officer with “minor bruises to his leg and some abrasions to his hand.” The motorcyclist was taken to the Day Street police station.

Chief Inspector McDonald said initial investigations revealed the motorcycle was unregistered and the driver’s license had been suspended.

It is expected that he will be prosecuted for a series of driving offences.

Delays on the city side of the bridge saw traffic backed up as far as the Anzac Bridge and the Western Distributor, with queues of up to 12km.

The southbound lanes were closed for more than an hour after the accident, causing traffic to back up just south of the Spit Junction.

Delays could impact commuters for several hours after two lanes opened in both directions at 4:15 p.m.

Transport for NSW Coordinator General Howard Collins urged motorists to avoid the area and consider alternative routes, including those traveling to the Qudos Bank Arena for the Olivia Rodrigo concert this evening.

NSW Police said a crime scene had been established. No arrests have been made.

The investigations continue.
