Happy Valley star Sarah Lancashire has gifted her co-stars a going away gift to mark the end of the third season.
On Sunday night, the final episode of the BBC drama lived up to the incredible hype with many viewers hailing the episode as “a masterpiece” and “one of the best TV finales ever.”
Sarah’s breakout performance as Sergeant Catherine Cawood received acclaim from critics and fans alike, as her final showdown with James Norton’s Tommy Lee Royce (or, as she described it, “a bit of a fight”) was considered the perfect way to end. the series.
While many fans were hoping for a high-octane conclusion, and perhaps even Catherine’s death, writer Sally Wainwright’s decision to revolve her finale around a 15-minute kitchen-table war of words between Tommy and Catherine left viewers in awe.
And to mark the end of a hugely successful television series that began in 2014, the leading lady decided to commemorate their time together for more than eight years with a token gift before saying goodbye.

Local soap shop The Yorkshire Soap Company posted a snapshot of the specially made candle Sarah, 58, picked out for her colleagues.
The white candle is housed in a clear glass casing with a gold metallic lid, with black and white packaging.
On the front of the sail, the words ‘The Happy Valley Triology – 2014-2022’ were written within the outline of a police badge.
Below is a quote from Sgt. Catherine Cawood, who said: “I’m the best cop that ever lived, but Code 11… job done.”
They wrote in the caption: ‘Some of you may know that #HappyValley is set in our hometown of Hebden Bridge and filmed in the wonderful county of Yorkshire!
“While filming in town, we were delighted to welcome the amazing Sarah Lancashire to our store, and over the summer of 2022 we worked together on a special gift from her to the entire cast and crew to wrap up the final season.
‘A very Yorkshire Happy Valley candle. During this time he donated to us the season 3 police cap and shoulder numbers which raised a whopping £4500 at a charity event organized by The Halifax Ukrainian Club.
“She deserves every award possible for her work on this brilliant series, and like the rest of the country, we’ll be glued to the television this Sunday for the final episode!”

After the episode, the local company found out that many fans were asking how they could buy their own Happy Valley candle.
They decided to offer fans the chance to enter a competition to get their hands on a spare.

And fans were left screaming ‘Oh my God’ as the villain attempted to take his own life after telling Catherine (Sarah Lancashire) that he forgave her for keeping the news that she had a child from him.
The two characters had a tense confrontation when they last came face to face, and Tommy realized he had come to the end of the road when he came to the conclusion that his son Ryan was happier living with her.
When matters came to a head, the escaped convict realized he had nowhere to go and set himself on fire, before Catherine rushed to put out the flames with a blanket.
