Happy Valley villain James Norton shares a behind-the-scenes look

He’s the chilling villain of Happy Valley on the run from the law with a plan to kidnap his son Ryan before the show’s grand finale.

But behind the scenes, James Norton seems like a much nicer guy, having shared a series of hilarious snaps with the cast and crew from season one.

James, 37, who plays Tommy Lee Royce, showed off a nasty-looking cut at a particularly gruesome moment while taking time out between scenes.

In another shot, the funnyman was joking with two members of the makeup team, posing only in a pair of boxers and a long-sleeved T-shirt.

James was showing off his trademark blonde hair from the first series, in which he kidnapped and tortured Ann Gallagher in a gruesome campaign of assault.

The star also shared some photos of her on-screen son, Ryan Clark. [Rhys Connah] as a young child actor, making some funny expressions in his school uniform.

The father and son duo also posed with a series of framed snapshots of them together, in a frame that was decorated with the words ‘The Boys’.

The actor said he was sharing some ‘Happy Valley love’ and asked fans to indulge him as he shared images from series one.

Sarah Lancashire also appeared in the image gallery, wearing her police uniform while covered in blood after one of her explosive scenes.

The cast members also gathered for a table read before filming to get a feel for the script.

Con, 56, who plays Neil Ackroyd, appeared on Thursday’s episode of This Morning, where he detailed the episode with Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.

He said: ‘The viewers are going to enjoy it. When I read the script for the last episode it blew my mind. Exit [Wainwright] He has written an extraordinary ending.

Holly then asked if it had been difficult for Con and his co-stars to keep the ending a secret.

He explained, “It’s not a hard secret to keep as we’ve lived with this show for a long time.”

He added of the popularity of the show in general: ‘Isn’t it wonderful to have a show that doesn’t just drop every episode and have that tension?

A trailer for the final episode of Happy Valley was released this week ahead of the upcoming finale on Sunday.

The 16-second clip shows the final confrontation between Catherine Cawood (Sarah Lancashire) and Tommy Lee Royce (James) after their daring escape from court before the police sergeant is shown breaking down in tears.

The trailer opens with Tommy’s son, Ryan (Rhys Connah), being questioned by the police about when he last had contact with his dangerous father.

A series of scenes of the police closing in on Tommy follows as Catherine is heard saying “he’s still out there, he’s going to get mad and he’s going to be even more desperate and dangerous.”

The short clip ends with a bloody Tommy appearing to hit someone on the ground and a final shot of Catherine crying.

Viewers tuned in for the penultimate episode of the BBC drama on Sunday night as Tommy revealed his big plans.

Tommy escaped at the end of the fourth episode of this series and fans found out in the fifth installment on Sunday that he was planning to elope to Marbella, with his son Ryan in tow.

Viewers admitted that they barely got to see the dramatic episode as everything lined up for a dramatic showdown between Tommy and Sargent Catherine as he reveals that he plans to kill her before flying to Spain.

The producers are said to be so desperate to keep the climax of the show a secret that they have filmed five different endings.

More than six million viewers are expected to tune in on Sunday to find out how the game of cat and mouse will be resolved.
