Hannah Hampton has been eliminated from Sarina Wiegman’s England squad to face Japan and Norway, while Maya Le Tissier and Katie Robinson earn their first call-up to the national team.
Sportsmail revealed on Monday that Hampton had been dropped from the final Lionesses roster of the year due to behavior and attitude issues.
Before England’s World Cup qualifier in September, Wiegman claimed that Hampton’s absence from the national team was due to “some personal issues she needs to resolve, so it’s better for her to stay with her club at this point.”

She played a part in England’s win at Euro 2022 but has since been banned due to posture problems
However, it is clear that the goalkeeper’s bad behavior and attitude have caused problems both internationally and at club level, leading Wiegman to disqualify the winner of Euro 2022.
Aston Villa, who had recently dropped Hampton from their roster ‘in the interests of the team’, was shocked to find that she had come to the game unannounced to watch the game from Chelsea’s home end and post a story on Instagram .
Meanwhile, Jordan Nobbs has returned to the squad alongside striker Alessia Russo, who is making a comeback after missing England’s camp in October through injury.

The Lionesses’ friendlies against Japan on November 11 and Norway on November 15 will end a very successful year.
Announcing the roster, Wiegman said: “These are going to be two good challenging matches for us and that’s exactly what we want and need at this stage.
“We will meet one team in Norway that we know a lot about and are rebuilding under Hege (Riise).

“Before then, however, we have a difficult game against Japan, which brings a different style of play, which is a good preparation for the World Cup.
“We hope the conditions in Spain will help us maximize our training as every session counts, along with the games of course, to get us ready for the World Cup.
“We can’t lose a minute and I’m looking forward to getting back on the grass. We have some new players to look at because we know we have so much competition for places coming through.”
