Hamish Blake and Zoe Foster Blake: Man allegedly broke into Woollahra rental and stole Land Rover

Radio host Hamish Blake and his business wife Zoë Foster Blake became confused after a ‘break-in’ when a man allegedly broke into their luxury rental house while they were sleeping and stole their luxury Land Rover.

Daily Mail Australia can exclusively reveal that the celebrity couple were the alleged victims of a break-in just days before Christmas last year.

Daniel Booth, 34, is charged with breaking and entering the four-bedroom house the power couple rented around 6 a.m. on Monday, December 19, for nearly $5,000 a week in Woollahra, eastern Sydney.

Police will allege in court that Booth allegedly entered the kitchen and stole keys from the skincare mogul’s handbag before fleeing in the family’s luxury Land Rover Defender.

Similar high-end models in the Defender range are valued at $123,919.

The Blakes discovered their car had disappeared in the parking lot in front of the residence later that morning.

But police will argue in court that the pair were able to track it down to Redfern, about four kilometers away in the inner south of the city.

The famous couple called the police and officers found the allegedly stolen car dumped on a street before arresting Booth at a nearby apartment on Morehead Street.

Police believe Booth was still in possession of the car key and handbag.

The car was seized for forensics while Booth was taken to Mascot Police Station, where he was charged.

The comedian and cosmetics entrepreneur stayed in the rental home with their young children — son Sonny, seven, and daughter Rudy, five — while renovating their $8.925 million home in nearby Vaucluse.

He was released on bail and was due to appear before the Central Local Court on December 21.

The Blakes bought their new five-bedroom, six-bathroom Vaucluse home in December 2020 after moving to Sydney from Melbourne.

The four-storey house, designed by Neil Architecture and appeared on Grand Designs Australia in 2013, measures 885 sq ft and features two sets of garages.

The purchase came after Zoë, 42, made the Australian Young Rich List in November, with an estimated net worth of $36 million thanks to her Go-To skincare line.

Seven months later, Hamish, 40, announced on Instagram that the family was staying in a rented house while work began on their home.

“And it’s a pretty good rent, because they have so many spoons,” he said.

“They even put a huge one on the wall,” he said, moving the camera to reveal a decorative utensil next to him.

‘So, must be fun. Must be very, very nice.’

According to ownership records, the Woollahra home was up for rent in February 2021 for $4900 a week.

It went on sale in June of this year before selling for an undisclosed amount in September, with current market estimates estimating its value at around $3.72 million.

Booth was released on bail in June this year and his case is expected to be heard in Sydney District Court on November 17.

In regards to the alleged incident involving the Blakes, Booth has been charged with aggravated burglary and committing serious misdemeanors with people there and stealing motor vehicles.

He pleaded not guilty to some of the charges and will appear before a jury in September 2023.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted the Blakes for comment.
