Shocking moment when an ugly fight breaks out in the backyard after a grandmother asked her neighbor to turn down the music
- Grandma asks neighbors to turn the volume down on the music
- She was met by an explosion of foul language
A grandmother who asked her neighbors to turn down their music when her house started to “shake” stared at swear words and insults over the backyard fence.
The ugly scene, set in front of children in Hamilton, New Zealand, happened after the grandmother’s family endured “excessive” noise from their neighbors partying “all day, all night.”
But when asked to turn down their music, several members of the household reacted angrily and shouted through the fence.
One even throws water on the grandmother in response to her question.
But the woman stands her ground, even when a man who can hardly contain his anger, shouting and pointing menacingly at her, climbs onto the fence.

Despite being asked to be considerate of his neighbours, the man rants at her about having ‘no respect’.
A woman stands next to him and tugs at his arm as if trying to pull him off the fence.
“You can’t even have a decent conversation,” says the grandmother.
The video of the incident was uploaded to TikTok by Kiwi mom Katelyn Park, who has four children, and has more than 1.4 million views.
‘[The music] was so loud that the house was shaking. Loud music is fine, but it was on a disrespectful level.’
She said the bass from her neighbor’s stereo started shaking her house.
‘It’s all day, all night. Sometimes the music comes on when I go to bed, when I get up in the morning, and when I come home from work. It is tiring!’ said Mrs. Park.
“It certainly takes its toll. I have an exit plan to move to Australia.’
Even as the neighbors yell, Mrs. Park’s daughter can be heard, unperturbed by the clamor, casually asking for “another creamy soda.”
‘I actually think it’s sad. My kids are so used to their antics that they think this is normal.’
One follower said Ms Park’s neighbors should “get a good night’s sleep.”
“I don’t think they can,” another person said in the comments.

“They had a fight one day and the cops showed up and she yelled ‘he smoked the last of the meth.'”
The grandmother in the clip is Mrs. Park’s mother.
“Your mother is wonderful,” said one of Mrs. Park’s followers.
“The way she stood her ground and didn’t let herself be intimidated exudes strength!”
In a later later video, Ms. Park said she felt protective of her mother but didn’t want to stir up the situation.
“It was really hard not to run to that fence, knock it down and hide.”
