Hamas terrorists beheaded babies and killed entire families in their homes in a small kibbutz in Israel, horrified Israeli soldiers have revealed.

About 70 Hamas terrorists with guns and grenades stormed the usually peaceful Kfar Aza kibbutz in southern Israel, killing anyone – men, women and children – in sight.

The bullet-riddled bodies of Israeli residents now lay on the kibbutz grounds amid burned houses, scattered furniture and burned cars. Solemn Israeli soldiers today went from house to house to collect a large number of people massacred there.

Outside one of the small kibbutz houses, the body of a resident was covered by a purple sheet with a bare foot sticking out. A pillow and other items from the house were scattered.

Elsewhere, the bodies of the gunmen lay face down. A broken gate at the perimeter of the kibbutz indicated where the gunmen had entered.

The militants went on a rampage, killing hundreds of Israelis and taking dozens hostage in places like Kfar Aza, near Sderot. Some of the houses were almost completely destroyed in the attack with collapsed and burnt walls.

Israeli troops were going house to house to haul the bodies of civilians into body bags. They hadn’t been able to get them before, as they were still fighting gunmen and working through traps.

A soldier shouted: ‘Tell the world what you saw here.’

Soldiers were still securing the paths of the kibbutz, which had bungalows with verandas, palm trees and banana plants, while gunfire and explosions could be heard in the distance. Planes could be heard overhead and smoke could be seen rising from Gaza. Sirens warned of incoming missiles caught aloft.

A military spokesman said the death toll from Hamas attacks had risen to 900, mostly civilians killed in their homes, on the street or at a dance party, dwarfing the scale of any previous attack by the Islamists except 9/11. . Dozens of Israelis were taken hostage in Gaza, with some paraded through the streets.

At least 770 Gazans have since been killed in Israeli attacks, according to Gaza officials, while entire districts in Gaza have been leveled.
