Halsey slams ‘mean’ fans for their ‘awful’ comments – after Britney Spears drama and health battle: ‘I’m a person’

Halsey spoke candidly about the cruelty she endured from certain fans in a vulnerable Tumblr post.

The 29-year-old pop star reminded internet trolls that she was “a person” and “not a character in a music video” as she described the “mean” comments she’s received lately.

On her Tumblr account, a disappointed Halsey described how the bullying had increased exponentially and expressed her regret at being in the spotlight again.

The news came after Halsey confirmed she has lupus and a rare T-cell disease and released her new song Lucky, a track inspired by Britney Spears’ song of the same name.

“My own fans are without a doubt meaner to me than anyone on the planet,” she began in her Tuesday post. “I don’t speak for all of you, of course. But it used to be a minority that were horrible to me and now it seems like a majority only occasionally voice their opinions about how much they hate me or how horrible I am.

Halsey has opened up about the cruelty she’s had to endure from certain fans lately in a vulnerable Tumblr post

“it’s hard to want to engage in a space that is completely devoid of any kindness, sympathy, patience; or to be honest, human decency. Especially after years of hiding the interactions for fear that EXACTLY this would happen. I don’t know, man. I almost lost my life. I’m not going to do anything that doesn’t make me happy. I can’t afford it spiritually.

“When I got sick, all I could think about was getting better so I could come back and be a part of THIS again. But I don’t even know what *this* is anymore and I want to crawl into a hole and regret coming back.”

She followed this up with a second post revealing that she would be releasing a stripped down version of Lucky.

‘Anyway. I’m on my way to a PET scan. And upload lucky stripped. Because this is the insane irony that my life has become.

“I’m a person. Not a character in a music video.”

Last June, Halsey spoke candidly about her battle with her fans. In a post she shared on Instagram at the time, she explained, “In 2022, I was first diagnosed with Lupus SLE and then with a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder.”

“Both conditions are currently being treated or are in remission. I will likely have both for the rest of my life.”

However, she added positively: ‘After a difficult start, thanks to the help of great doctors, I slowly got everything under control.’

In June, Halsey announced that she had been diagnosed with ‘Lupus SLE and then a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder’

Her music video refers to her battle with her health

“After 2 years I feel better and more grateful than ever to have music to listen to,” the mother of one continued. “I can’t wait to get back where I belong, with all of you. Singing and screaming until I drop.”

In a separate post, she spoke openly about her health struggles. Several videos have emerged showing the singer receiving IVs and also breaking down in tears.

In 2022, Halsey shared on Instagram that she had been diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, Sjogre’s syndrome, mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS), and postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS).

The singer also suffers from endometriosis and gave her followers an update earlier this year in March after she reversed surgery

It comes after she released her new song Lucky, a track inspired by Britney Spears’ song of the same name

The Bad At Love singer previously revealed that she has ADHD and bipolar disorder.

Halsey also recently released her new song Lucky, a track inspired by Britney Spears’ song of the same name.

The song is about her attempts to maintain a facade while secretly battling lupus and a rare T-cell disease.

For both the lyrics and the music video, Halsey drew heavy inspiration from Britney Spears’ 2000 song of the same name, which is about a celebrity hiding her personal woes.

Though Halsey previously said she had Britney’s “blessing” for the reference, Britney posted an angry message on social media on Friday in response to the new song, saying she felt “violated” and threatening to sue.

Britney later deleted the post, claiming it had been uploaded by someone else. “Fake news!!! That wasn’t me on my phone!!! I love Halsey that’s why I deleted it,” she tweeted.

Halsey was quick to respond to the singer’s second post, sharing on X: ‘and I love Britney!!!!’
