Halsey FINALLY confirms engagement to Avan Jogia after the 2024 VMAs
Halsey confirmed via X (formerly known as Twitter) that she is engaged to fellow Canadian actor and singer, Avan Jogia, just hours after they performed at the Video Music Awards.
After taking the stage at New York’s UBS on Wednesday night, the 29-year-old pop star, who uses they/them pronouns, gave fans a tantalizing update on her love life.
After seeing a social media post that referred to Jogia as her boyfriend, the Without Me hitmaker corrected the statement by commenting: “***fiancé Avan Jogia.”
Earlier in the evening she had teased her about whether they were planning to get married, and they were looking forward to tying the knot someday.
“I hope so,” cheered the mother of one, as she asked if she would marry Jogia. “Avan is the best.”

She continued, “He’s one of the best things that’s ever happened to me. And every day I spend with him is one where I feel like I’m with my best friend.”
Additionally, the About-Face founder raved about how he’s “best friends” with her three-year-old son Ender, with whom she has a family with her ex Alev Aydin.
“They are inseparable,” she said E! News.
In July, rumors of an engagement between the couple surfaced after they were spotted getting married in public during a romantic picnic.
During the outing, she wore a green emerald, surrounded by smaller, sparkling diamonds, on her left hand.
Halsey and Avan, who usually keep their relationship under wraps, first sparked romance rumors in June 2023 when they were spotted traveling to Spain.
Later in September, the two were spotted together again on a date in Los Angeles, holding hands.
The following month, the couple went Instagram official when they showed off stylish leather ensembles designed by Luis De Javier. Halsey and Jogia also showed off their Halloween costumes on social media.

Earlier this year, in April, the two stars made their red carpet debut at the Monkey Man premiere in West Hollywood.
She stunned in a figure-hugging corset-style mini dress, while Avan looked dapper in a black pinstripe suit for the festivities.
A few months earlier, in May, the lovebirds also appeared at the Gold Gala 2024 in Los Angeles.
The singer and the actor both wore outfits for the event by Indian fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee.
In a recent TikTok clip shared earlier this month, Jogia was seen filming the pair in the reflection of a mirror as she touched up her makeup, adding the caption: “When I think he takes nice pictures of me.”
A montage of “unflattering” photos then emerged as part of a viral trend, including one in which she was topless and wearing only pink and white striped shorts.

Their engagement takes place after she reveals her health problems to the world.
In an Instagram post she made in June, she explained to her followers: “In 2022 I was first diagnosed with Lupus SLE and then a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder.”
“Both conditions are currently being treated or are in remission. I will likely have both for the rest of my life.”
However, she added positively: ‘After a difficult start, thanks to the help of great doctors, I slowly got everything under control.’
“After 2 years I feel better and more grateful than ever to have music to listen to,” the mother of one continued. “I can’t wait to get back where I belong, with all of you. Singing and screaming until I drop.”
On June 4, Halsey also released her single The End, which is also featured on her upcoming fifth studio album, but the title has yet to be announced.
In a separate post, she spoke openly about her health struggles. Several videos have emerged showing the singer receiving IVs and also breaking down in tears.

In 2022, Halsey shared on Instagram that she had been diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, Sjogre’s syndrome, mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS), and postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS).
The singer also suffers from endometriosis and gave her followers an update earlier this year in March after having surgery to reverse it.
She posted a photo on social media at the time, explaining that she was “back in diapers” during the recovery process.
The Bad At Love singer previously revealed that she has ADHD and bipolar disorder.
