A mum obsessed with Halloween has been praised for her kindness after removing her ‘morbid’ decorations when her neighbor was diagnosed with lung cancer.

Salena Webb’‘s favorite time of year is ghost season, as she prepares for October 31 months in advance by putting up scary decorations.

This year, the South Carolina-based mother-of-four turned her front yard into a cemetery by filling it with cardboard headstones, cobwebs and two skeletons holding a coffin.

However, Salena’s excitement about the spooky day was brought to a halt when her neighbor’s son approached her and pleaded with her to take down the decorations after his father was tragically diagnosed with cancer.

He then asked if Salena would mind taking the ‘coffin’ down so his father wouldn’t be constantly reminded of his diagnosis.

The clip then cuts to Salena’s fiance removing the coffin, with the mother-of-four adding: ‘We took it down because kindness is free.’

She captioned the video: ‘My family knows I love Halloween and my decorations took me a while to make and put up. I just bought the skeleton carrying the coffin to go with my cemetery to really make my Halloween decor pop this year.

‘I was a bit sad at first, but I thought about the bigger picture. Removing my coffin doesn’t hurt me at all, but it might ease and bring some peace to my neighbor as he adjusts to this news.

“Kindness is free and compassion goes a long way.”
