Halle Bailey reflected on how watching The Little Mermaid as a child changed her “whole world” in a new trailer for Disney’s highly anticipated live-action musical remake of the beloved film, due in theaters next month.
In a teaser for her upcoming movie, in which she stars as Princess Ariel, the 23-year-old singer gushed that she “like so many other ‘little girls’ grew up wanting to ‘be a mermaid’ after seeing the characters of her character. adventures under the sea.

The actress wrote in a caption along with the clip, “The little girl in me is pinching herself right now.”
She opened the clip by saying, “Today I have something very exciting to reveal to you all.”
Before holding up the miniature luminaire, she said, “I’m going to cry.”
Then the singer said in a trembling voice, “I’m literally choking because this means so much to me.”
Adorable, the entertainer, who is one half of musical act Chloe x Halle, commented, “And look – she even has my birthmark!”

The Atlanta-bred music artist presented the doll, which was outfitted in a blue bustier and matching mermaid tail.
