Haley slams Trump’s Tuesday night victory speech before mocking him again for confusing her with Nancy Pelosi on January 6

Nikki Haley continued to attack former President Trump for seemingly confusing her with Nancy Pelosi, while also slamming his victory speech after ditching her during Tuesday’s New Hampshire primary.

Haley, after suggesting that Trump had “thrown a tantrum at her” during his comments after winning Tuesday night, took a shot at the ex-president for confusing her with the former Speaker of the House of Representatives.

“You know, it’s interesting because a few days ago he kept talking about me. I mean, going on and on for a while about why I didn’t send security to the Capitol on January 6th. He said it over and over again,” she said to laughter from an audience of supporters.

“I mean, someone needs to tell him I wasn’t there on January 6th. I’ve never worked in the Capitol on a job like that, but I think he was a little confused. And so we let that pass,” she added.

During a rally in Concord, New Hampshire ahead of the primaries, Trump repeatedly referred to Haley being responsible for security during the riot at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021.

“By the way, they never report the crowd on January 6th. You know, Nikki Haley, Nikki Haley, Nikki Haley, you know, they – you know they destroyed all the information, all the evidence, everything, deleted and destroyed everything. All of them,” Trump claimed without substantiation.

“Because of a lot of things, like Nikki Haley being in charge of security, we offered her 10,000 people, soldiers, National Guard, whatever they want. They rejected it. They don’t want to talk about that. These are very dishonest people.”

President Joe Biden’s re-election campaign addressed the gaffe by posting a clip of Trump’s comment on X and noting, “A deeply confused Trump confuses Nancy Pelosi and Nikki Haley multiple times.”

Haley used Trump’s comments Tuesday to portray Trump as insecure and concerned about her main challenge.

“He was abusive. He did what he does. But I know he does that when he’s insecure. I know he does that when threatened. And without a doubt he should feel threatened,” she said.

The former South Carolina governor and Trump’s ambassador to the United Nations added that he ignored the issues Americans are concerned about.

“He stopped talking about the American people once he started talking about revenge. “He didn’t talk about the fact that we have an economy in shambles and out-of-control inflation,” she said.

She then reiterated a proposal she’s had since day one of her campaign: a mental competency test for political candidates over the age of 75, which both Trump at 77 and President Joe Biden at 81 would face.

‘And so he continues. And you know, even on that day when he was going on and on, around January 6, we were talking about, okay, he was having a moment. He was confused. But it also goes back to why I have continued to push for a mental competency test for everyone over the age of 75.”

Trump blasted Nikki Haley for staying in the Republican presidential race as he claimed victory in New Hampshire on Tuesday night, calling her an “imposter” and claiming she had a “very bad night.”

“We hit her so hard,” he told his cheering supporters.

He also pointed out that Haley finished third in the Iowa caucuses last week. And he noted that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who finished second in Iowa, has already dropped out of the race and endorsed him.

‘Ron beat her too. He came second and left. She came third and she’s still hanging around,” he complained.

“In life you can’t let people get away with bull***,” he said. ‘You just can’t do that. When I looked at her, the beautiful dress, it probably wasn’t like that, I said, what is she doing? We won.’

Trump ranted in his speech despite winning the Republican primary in New Hampshire and tightening his grip on the Republican Party’s presidential nomination.

Haley still has long odds of beating Trump, especially after losing the early primaries and the Iowa Caucus.

But Trump spent most of his victory speech berating Haley in remarks that marked a notable change in tone from his speech in Iowa last week, where he called for unity among Republicans.

Instead, he blamed New Hampshire’s Republican governor, Chris Sununu, for allowing Democrats to vote in the Republican primary.

The majority of voters in New Hampshire are independent and can vote in whichever primary they choose. State law allows voters registered with one party to switch to an independent party to vote in any primary they like. But there was an October deadline to make the change.

Haley won independent voters Tuesday.

“You have a governor who, quite frankly, doesn’t know what he’s doing in this state,” Trump complained. “They also accept Democrats in the Republican primaries.”

“They’re only voting because they want me to look as bad as possible, because if you remember, we won in 2016, and if you really remember and want to play it fair, we won in 2020 too.”

However, he didn’t let Haley down, calling her a “cheater” for claiming victory.

“I said, I can go up there and say to everyone, thank you for the win, it’s great, or I can go up there and say who the hell was the impostor who went on stage earlier and claimed a win, for example? Actually, she did very poorly. She had to win. The governor said she was going to win, but then she failed miserably.”

Haley congratulated Trump on his victory in her remarks in New Hampshire, but vowed to remain in the Republican presidential race.
