The clip was captioned: “Show your hairstylist a non-AI photo as your hair inspiration.”
“I’m really not trying to be mean when I say this, but if you go to get your hair done and you show your hairdresser a photo generated by AI, it’s fake.I can’t give you AI hair. Don’t do that,” she said in the 20-second video.
In a follow-up segment, Amanda explained what types of inspiration photos would be most helpful.
She explained, “When you go to a hairstylist, it’s best to give them an idea of their own work that they’ve shared and loved.”
Many hairdressers flooded the comments section, echoing Amanda’s warning.
One person said, “They want AI hair for $125.”
Another user added: ‘I’m going to send this to my client who keeps sending me wigs for her inspiration photos.’
Someone else wrote: ‘I’m a hairdresser and people have shown me AI FADES.’

“I’ve seen one at least once a day,” said a fourth user.
AI features have gained popularity in recent months, with even Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg using them to fool social media users.
The 39-year-old CEO of Meta stunned social media users when an image of him with shaggy facial hair made the rounds on X, formerly known as Twitter, leaving dozens of people in awe of his “handsome” new look.
However, Mark’s male makeover wasn’t as impressive as it seemed.
A quick visit to his Instagram page, where the original video was posted, reveals that the bearded look wasn’t the result of an actual “glow-up,” but rather an impressive use of Meta’s new AI features.
