Hailey Bieber reveals she ‘struggled with a little PTSD’ after suffering mini-stroke months ago

Hailey Bieber has spoken candidly about her battle with PTSD after suffering a mini-stroke last year.

The 26-year-old model, who was admitted to hospital with stroke-like symptoms caused by a blood clot in her brain, detailed the terrifying experience in The Run Through With Vogue Podcast released on friday.

She said: ‘I struggled with a lot of anxiety afterwards. I struggled with a bit of PTSD [Post Traumatic Stress Disorder] like the fear that maybe it would happen again.

‘It was just a feeling that I was like, I don’t want to experience that ever again. I mean, it was so scary, so jarring, so bewildering in every way you can imagine.

She added that even if she is “open to talking about the experience if it could help someone else,” it was still “very hard to talk about it” soon after the experience.

Hailey explained: ‘Even the Youtube video I made for my Youtube channel was hard for me. It brings back the feelings of going through that experience. It becomes easier and easier over time to be able to talk about it.

“I’m really grateful that I was able to have amazing doctors, nurses, and people who helped me get to the bottom of what really happened.”

He went on to say that little by little he has started to enjoy life again without the anxiety of what may happen in the future health-wise.

Hailey is optimistic when she said, “I look back and it could have been so much worse.” Much worse things could have happened at that time.

In April, Hailey revealed how she underwent a procedure to repair a hole in her heart after suffering a ‘mini stroke’ the previous month, while having breakfast with husband Justin.

In a video posted to her YouTube channel at the time, the supermodel recalled feeling a “weird sensation” in her right arm and numbness in her fingertips before she was admitted to the hospital.

After explaining to her fans that she wanted them to hear about the terrifying incident in her own words, the Vogue cover girl said her husband noticed something was wrong and repeatedly asked her if she was okay.

When she tried to reply, Hailey revealed that she “couldn’t talk” but was thinking she must be “having a stroke.”

“The right side of my face started to droop, I couldn’t get a sentence out,” he said.

Quickly, Justin had someone call 911 and a nearby doctor came to examine her as she struggled to form words while asking if she knew her name and other basic questions.

She also noted that her anxiety made “everything worse,” but by the time she got to the ER, she was “almost back to normal.”

Luckily, he scored a 0 on the ER stroke checklist and his scary symptoms stopped.

The hospital confirmed that he suffered a transient ischemic attack (TIA), more commonly known as a mini-stroke.

Hailey, who has a history of migraines, says doctors told her the combination of her new birth control, a recent battle with COVID, and traveling ‘from Paris and back in a very short time’ likely caused the blood clot. .

While medical professionals were unable to determine how the blood clot had traveled to her brain, they believe she had a small opening, known as a PFO, in her heart that usually closes after birth.
