Three women have been rushed to hospital after a violent stabbing broke out in the early hours of Friday morning.
Police were called to the altercation in Hackham West in Adelaide's south at 4am and found three injured women with stab wounds.
A woman, 21, suffering from multiple wounds was rushed to Flinders Medical Center in a serious but stable condition.
A second 21-year-old woman and another woman were also taken to hospital with minor injuries.
“The investigation continues and police will speak to the three women and other people who were involved in or witnessed this incident,” police said Friday.
'Police would like to reassure the local community that this was not a random incident and that everyone involved knows each other.'

The brawl broke out at Radom Court and the intersection of Mallorca Rd and Warsaw Crescent was closed to traffic while police investigated the scene.
The incident adds to the sudden explosion of brutal knife violence to hit Australia this week.
On Wednesday, real estate agent Julie Seed was reportedly murdered in a random daylight stabbing in the Adelaide suburb of Plympton.
Brisbane was hit by two stabbings on Thursday.
Paramedics rushed a 46-year-old man to Brisbane's Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition just after 8am.
A man was also found with multiple stab wounds at a petrol station in the suburb of Annerley.
A short time later that morning, a woman was reportedly killed in a stabbing in the Brisbane suburb of Hamilton.
Julie Seed was reportedly stabbed to death in a random attack in Adelaide on Wednesday.
Queensland Police were called to an address on Oxford Street in the leafy suburb east of the CBD after reports of a disturbance.
They allege a 55-year-old woman entered a unit and stabbed the 43-year-old resident.
The alleged victim suffered several serious stab wounds and was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, where she later died, police said.
“Police will allege that the two women knew each other but were not in a family environment,” police said.
