While in prison, she bonded with Ken after he sent her a letter; they started corresponding and things quickly turned romantic, when he proposed in 2018.
But after the Hulu show The Act — starring Joey King as Gypsy and Patricia Arquette as her mother — premiered a few months later and put an intense spotlight on Gypsy’s story, she admitted in her memoir that Ken’s sudden attention couldn’t handle. .
They eventually split and she moved on with Ryan Scott Anderson, and they got married in July 2022.
Ryan was by her side when she was released, but just three months later news emerged that they had split.
Soon after, it was reported that Gypsy had reconciled with her ex, Ken; she then revealed that they were expecting in July.
In a YouTube video at the time, Gypsy spoke about how her horrific upbringing would influence her views on motherhood.
“Everything I wanted from a mother, I want to give to this baby,” she said. “I just want to be a good mother to my child, I want to be everything my mother wasn’t.”
Gypsy added that the pregnancy had given her “freedom in a way she never expected,” and a newfound peace about “everything that has ever happened to her.”

“It doesn’t matter because it all led to me being who I am today,” she said. “It all led me to this moment, here and now.”
Gypsy opened up last month People about the ‘backstory’ behind her baby’s name.
“Ken came up with that. There’s a whole backstory to it,” she said. ‘Some people think it’s because of the Disney princess.
“Some people think it’s because Kristy’s dog is named Aurora Grace,” she said of her stepmother, adding, “It’s not because of that.”
Instead, Aurora was selected because of the couple’s shared love of the Northern Lights.
“When Ken and I were together seven years ago, we both had a fascination with the Northern Lights, and the correct term is Aurora Borealis,” she said, recalling her time with Urker during her captivity.
“I think it might have been in 2018, when we wrote each other’s future child names on pieces of paper and Aurora is what we both chose without even knowing each other chose it.”
Gypsy said she reminisced about the name when she split from Ken and married her now ex-husband Ryan.
‘When we were apart [it was like]”Oh, Aurora will never be born.” A lot of people think the origin is one thing, but they don’t know that little story,” she continued.
Gypsy added that once she is paroled later this year, she and her family plan to one day see the Northern Lights with their own eyes.
