They say people are attracted to partners who look familiar to them – and social media users are now insisting this is the case for Gypsy Rose Blanchard after noticing some rather uncanny similarities between her husband and her late mother.
After serving eight years in prison for her part in her mother's murder, 32-year-old Gypsy Rose Blanchard is finally free – and has wasted no time starting her life as a married woman with her husband, Ryan Scott Anderson.
Blanchard married the high school special education teacher in 2022 while serving her prison sentence for her involvement in the murder of Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard.
Since her release, she has been busy posting about her life of freedom on social media, and now social media users have noticed a surprising physical resemblance between her husband and her late mother.

Blanchard met the Missouri native in 2020, after he wrote her an email after watching the 2017 HBO documentary about her case: Mommy Dead and Dearest.
Their email exchanges then turned into phone calls and eventually in-person visits, with them eventually tying the knot in 2022.
However, fans are convinced that the two look very similar and are even sharing some far-fetched theories as to why.
One TikTok user shared a photo of Anderson and Dee Dee side by side, to write: “Gypsy Rose's mother and husband have a strange resemblance. Hopefully she's happy!'
“Gypsy Rose's husband and mother are the same people!” another wondered.
Someone else shared more side-by-side photos, along with audio that said, “We're twins.”
“I know I'm not the only one who thought this,” user Domonique wrote.
“They must be sharing blood somewhere down the road. He even kind of favors Gypsy,” she added.
There have been mixed reactions to the videos, with some surprised at the uncanny resemblance, while others didn't notice.
'I see! You might be on to something,” one user wrote.
“The smile is exactly the same,” said one surprised commenter.

'It's a trauma response to find a connection with someone who looks the same. Hopefully he doesn't have any bad intentions and they can live happily,” someone else chimed in.
“It's very common for people to look for lovers who resemble the traits of their parents/guardians,” another agreed.
Blanchard was released from Chillicothe Correctional Center in Chillicothe, Missouri on December 28, 2023.
Blanchard conspired with her then-boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn, whom she met online in 2012, to kill Dee Dee in June 2015.
She was sentenced to eight to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to her mother's murder in 2016, while Godejohn was convicted of first-degree murder.

It is believed that Blanchard suffered from Munchausen-by-proxy syndrome, with her mother insisting that her daughter suffered from several fabricated diseases, requiring her to undergo painful surgeries and take medications with adverse side effects.
Dee Dee shaved her daughter's head to simulate the effects of leukemia, doctored her birth certificate to pretend she was younger, and gave her unnecessary drugs that caused her to drool and eventually lose her teeth.
It was also alleged that her mother kept her captive and malnourished, and after meeting Godejohn online in 2012, she confided in him about her mother's coercive and sadistic control over her, and they began to hatch a plan to kill her .
Dee Dee was found on the morning of June 14, 2015, after being stabbed seventeen times in her sleep by Godejohn, who is currently serving a life sentence without parole.
