Gym-goer apologises after she is criticised for wearing painted ‘leggings’ in failed ‘social experiment’

A fitness fanatic has apologized after being criticized for heading to the gym in painted-on leggings for an ill-fated 'social experiment'.

Natalie Reynolds, from the US, decided to workout in the leggings painted over her swimsuit on December 27 – and she didn't quite get the reception she expected.

Natalie has since apologized for the so-called 'social experiment', writing on social media: 'I have made a serious and ongoing error in my judgment and I do not expect to be forgiven.

“I'm just here to apologize.”

The 26-year-old wore blue body paint over nude swim trunks and a purple painted 'sports bra' over nipple covers. She was also wearing a black jacket at the time of the video.

Before the controversy, she said on

“So I sit up for about five to six hours. It's painted on a pair of pants, so this is all paint. These are swimming trunks.'

Natalie then headed to a nearby gym, where she was confronted by a man.

He said, “If you don't have any clothes on, you need to get out of here.”

She replied that she had clothes on, but he repeated that her clothes are 'not good'.

Natalie shared the video on social media and said: 'A guy at the gym is pressuring me because I'm wearing dyed trousers.'

A third commented: 'You were wrong. If the rules aren't clear enough, then Gym Etiquette should be obvious to you. People are in it for profit, not whatever this is.”
