Gwyneth Paltrow reveals her BIGGEST tip on raising teenage children Apple, 19, and Moses, 17: ‘I have been so lucky’
Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed one of her biggest tips when it comes to raising teenagers, admitting that she simply gives them ‘freedom’.
The Oscar winner, 51 – who recently shared that her daughter Apple, 19, is her “best friend” – shares her eldest child and son, Moses, 17, with ex-husband and Coldplay frontman, Chris Martin.
When he tied the knot with Brad Falchuk in 2018, the Goop founder also became stepmother to his two teenagers whom he welcomed with ex-wife Suzanne Bukinik: Isabella and Brady.
The Iron Man actress discussed raising her children during a conversation People in an article published Friday and the newspaper admitted, “I was so lucky with my teenage years.”
“We probably had a year when Apple was, I would say about 13 years old, where I was like, ‘Oh wow, okay…'” Paltrow explained.

However, the beauty added: ‘…I actually didn’t have that terrible teenage thing, I think, because I’ve always been very, very honest with my kids and I think I’ve always helped them a little bit. a little more freedom and responsibility than they thought they were ready for.”
Gwyneth went on to say that her children have been “responsible” with the freedom she has given them.
“They treated it with reverence. I’ve always said, ‘I don’t have to give you a curfew unless you give me a reason to give you a curfew,’ something like that.”
She continued, “They are responsible and have never done anything crazy.”
The Shakespeare In Love actress told the publication that she has had a positive experience raising teenagers, while also reflecting on how quickly time passes.
‘I really enjoyed having teenagers. I mean, Apple is in the last year of her teenage years now, which I think is so crazy that she’ll be turning 20 on her next birthday. I don’t know exactly how that happened.’
Although Paltrow has admitted that she has been “lucky” raising a total of four teenagers, she previously told People that it hasn’t always been easy.
“It’s hard and counterintuitive, and no one tells you how to do it. Just stick with it,” Paltrow said. “Now it’s one of the things that brings me the most happiness in my life.”

Gwyneth also opened up about her close bond with her daughter Apple, who is in her second year of college. “I mean, it’s just so nice to be with her.”
The award winner added, “It’s so great to have a daughter because you have an amazing best friend and we love to do the same things, and she’s so funny and she’s so smart.” It is awesome.’
Paltrow also explained how much she admires her mini-me daughter and the “woman” she is blossoming into.
‘Then I’m a little bit in awe of this woman that she has become and all her points of view that are really differentiated. She’s very strong and it’s amazing.’
Although Apple and Moses have their differences, the actress also revealed some of their similarities.
“My children are similar in that they are both incredibly sensitive and empathetic. This way they can really feel people’s things very penetratingly.’
She later revealed that her daughter “looks more like her dad,” Chris Martin, while Moses looks more like her.
Gwyneth stated that both she and her son are “happy to be home and be more internal, but I think they both, hopefully, got the best of both of us, and hopefully we were able to minimize our feelings.” ***y qualities have passed them on.’
