Gwyneth Paltrow sends surprise message of support to Kate Middleton following royal’s triumphant Trooping the Colour appearance – after going on a double date with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry

Gwyneth Paltrow has sent a surprise message of support to the Princess of Wales following the royal family’s triumphant return to public life this weekend.

The Princess of Wales, 42, joined the royal family at Trooping the Color celebrations on Saturday – after revealing in a statement that she is having “good days and bad days” when it comes to chemotherapy.

On Saturday evening, the Prince and Princess of Wales posted a series of photos to Instagram and thanked fans for “making it a day to remember.”

The post – featuring a photo of William, Kate and their children on the balcony of Buckingham Palace – has racked up more than 1.4 million likes on Instagram and received an enthusiastic response from Gwyneth Paltrow.

The actress – who is friends with Meghan Markle – addressed the princess and wrote: “So happy to see you looking so happy and good.”

The mother-of-two signed her comment, which was ‘liked’ by more than 5,300 users, with a red love heart emoji.

In May 2023, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry reportedly enjoyed a meal at a Michelin-starred sushi restaurant in Montecito with Gwyneth Paltrow and her TV producer husband Brad Fulchuk.

The royal couple was also joined by Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden, the lead guitarist of the band Good Charlotte.

Meghan Markle’s night out with Gwyneth Paltrow came just weeks after the Duchess’s trademark application for The Tig was approved, meaning she could bring back her lifestyle blog. It was also the first time Prince Harry was spotted after spending just 28 hours in Britain for King Charles’ coronation.

As a result, there was a lot of speculation that Meghan’s site could rival Gwyneth’s multi-million dollar company Goop.

Meghan first launched the website – which she called her “passion project” – in 2014, and for three years she used it as her personal blog, discussing everything from food and travel to fashion and politics.

Additionally, Gwyneth was one of the first celebrities to send her congratulations to the Princess of Wales in March, after the royal family revealed in an emotional video message that she is receiving treatment for cancer.

Describing the princess as a “pillar of grace and strength,” Gwyneth commented on the Instagram post: “Sending love.”

On Friday evening, the Princess of Wales released a moving personal statement about her cancer treatment.

The royal family said: ‘I have been overwhelmed by all the kind messages of support and encouragement over the past few months.

‘It really has made a world of difference to William and me and helped us both through the tougher times.’

It continued: ‘I am making good progress, but as anyone undergoing chemotherapy knows, there are good days and bad days.

‘On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you need to rest your body. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of your good feelings.

The princess then said that she is “learning to be patient, especially when it comes to uncertainty.”

She concluded the statement with, “Thank you so much for your continued understanding, and to all of you who so courageously shared your stories with me.”

Meghan Markle sent a new batch of jam and dog biscuits from her brand American Riviera Orchard to polo player Nacho Figueras this weekend.

The Duke and Duchess’ close friend posted a photo of his PR package on Instagram – just hours before Kate returned to public life.
