Gwyneth Paltrow is said to be the latest celebrity to eye a house in Cornwall.

The Academy Award-winning actress, 51, normally lives in Los Angeles, California, but seems to be hoping for a quieter life on the British coast.

She follows a host of celebrities including Cate Blanchett, Jason Statham, Jamie Dornan and Stanley Tucci, who have all bought properties in the British province.

But while her A-list friends have taken up residence in Mawgan Porth – now often known as ‘Hollywood-on-Sea’ due to the influx of famous faces – Gwyneth is looking for a quieter location.

A local told the newspaper: ‘Gwyneth has recently been in the area and looked at some potential places for a holiday home.

‘She’s no stranger and has spent some time in Cornwall over the years. But it seems that the quiet and sedate pace of life in Polzeath has caught her attention.

“Gwyneth has become the talk of the town and there are apparently two places she has her eye on.”

Her ex-husband Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, with whom she is co-parents to daughter Apple, 19, and son Moses, 17, is also close to the area.

The secluded spot is said to offer the star some much-needed privacy and is a world away from the busy Californian life.

The resident added that – instead of people being annoyed at the idea of ​​another famous face in the county – most locals are excited about the idea of ​​Gwyneth joining the community.

Other famous faces who have settled in Cornwall include Fifty Shades of Gray actor Jamie Dornan, Cate Blanchett and Stanley Tucci.

Located just four miles north of Newquay, A-listers are flocking to the small West Country enclave and building James Bond-style homes.

The action hero, 44, is believed to be ‘in love’ with the nature reserve after filming his blockbuster DC movie in nearby Devon.

Last year a source revealed that Oscar-winning actress Cate, 54, had bought a property in the city – believed to be worth more than £2million – and her agent later confirmed the news was true.

Just months later, a fan couldn’t believe it when they saw Hollywood star Jamie Dornan – known for starring as Christian Gray in the ‘Fifty Shades’ film series – at a gas station after moving to the area.

Alongside a selfie of herself and Jamie, she wrote on Instagram: ‘I went to get gas and thought it was impossible but it was Mr Gray himself!’

But Cate has been lambasted by Cornish villagers for ‘non-stop drilling and banging’ and her £1.6million beach house.

The 54-year-old actress bought a cottage in the village in 2020, but demolished it to turn it into a five-bedroom ‘eco home’.

Locals have since started complaining that the ‘noisy construction work’ is affecting their living standards.
