Gwyneth Paltrow has no plans to return to acting and ‘hated’ filming at the peak of her career… as she admits she’d like to fully retire from the spotlight

Gwyneth Paltrow insists she has no desire to return to acting.

The Oscar winner, 51, left the big screen after 2019’s Avengers: Endgame and has put all her efforts into her own wellness company, Goop.

Speaking to a packed crowd on stage at the Besties event in Sydney on Friday evening, the American actress said she prefers a more routine lifestyle.

“I really love what I do and I know it’s hard to understand… For people who say, ‘You were a movie star!’ Wasn’t it fun?” she said.

“I love my 9 to 5. I love not traveling all the time and being away for months at a time.”

Paltrow added that during the height of her acting career, she made three to five films every year.

It wasn’t until she gave birth to her first child, daughter Apple, that she realized she wanted to scale back her roles in Hollywood.

‘I was just stoking. And when I had my daughter, when I turned 31, it was the first time I had a chance to assess my career and (think), ‘Was I happy?'” she said.

“(Having a baby) changed things for me.”

As for retirement plans, Paltrow said she has no objections to stepping away from the spotlight for good.

‘I would like to. What would I miss? Would I miss it if I got back that someone thinks I’m special? That’s not right,” she continued.

“I’d like to know what I would be missing.”

Speaking to a packed crowd on stage at the Besties event in Sydney on Friday evening, the American actress said she prefers a more routine lifestyle.

The Sliding Doors star revealed earlier this month that she is considering removing herself from the public eye.

“I will literally disappear from public life,” the stunning star said of her future retirement plans Rush. “No one will ever see me again.”

She echoed this sentiment later in the interview when asked if she would try to teach others how to age gracefully.

“I’ll probably try, knowing myself. Or I could say, “F*** this.” Maybe I’ll just disappear and no one will ever see me again.’

For now, Gwyneth is focusing on her wellness brand Goop, founded in 2008, but that also has an expiration date as she hopes to sell the company in “a few more years.”

She said she will then turn her attention to more domestic issues, as she openly admits that work-life balance is not always easy.

“I’m in a phase where I feel like things are just extra, extra messy because I have so much to do,” she explained.

“My son and stepson are both seniors in high school, and sometimes I feel like the college process itself is a full-time job,” she continued, referring to her son Moses, 17, whom she shares with her ex Chris Martin. and her stepson Brody, 17, whom she shares with husband Brad Falchuk.

Gwyneth also shares daughter Apple, 19, with Chris and stepdaughter Isabella with Brad.
