Gwyneth Paltrow admits she was ‘not prepared’ for daughter Apple learning about sex aged 11
Gwyneth Paltrow has admitted she was “unprepared” for her 11-year-old daughter Apple to learn about sex.
The actress, 50, who shares both 18-year-old and son Moses, 17, with ex-husband Chris Martin, initially welcomed her eldest child’s school teaching sex education.
But Gwyneth admitted she didn’t think teachers would go as deep and detailed as she did.
In conversation with Alex Cooper on the Call her daddy podcast, she said, “I remember when my kids both went to this wonderful elementary school here in Los Angeles after we got back from London. And they taught them sex education in sixth grade.
“I really wasn’t prepared for the information they came home with.”
“The school taught her EVERYTHING!” Gwyneth Paltrow has admitted she was ‘unprepared’ for her daughter Apple to learn about sex at age 11
The founder of Goop admitted that she will “never forget” the stunned expressions on the faces of Apple and her friend as they struggle to process what they’ve learned in school.
She laughed, “I’ll never forget Apple and her best friend Emily, sitting at our kitchen banquet in shock, as if the color was draining from their faces.
“They taught them everything. Everything. Whatever you think, they taught like the 11, 12 year olds. They say, “Do people do this?”‘
Elsewhere on the podcast, the Iron Man star admitted that as soon as she met Chris, she knew they would have kids together because their bond was nothing she’d ever felt.
She said, “When I met him, there was something very deep there. And I couldn’t quite put my finger on it because it felt very different from my other relationships.
“It’s not so much that the relationship itself turned out to be healthier than my other relationships. I just think I had a deep calling on some level.
“I knew he was going to be the father of my kids, maybe or something. It was a very strong feeling.’
Earlier this year, Apple made her Paris Fashion Week debut while sitting in the front row at Chanel’s Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2023 show.

She said, “That’s what G. Label is best at. Pieces that feel comfortable, but also look very cool and elegant.’
Speaking of the jeans and skirt, the ‘Moonlight and Valentino’ star added: ‘We made both retro styles in vintage-soft denim that has a bit of stretch but still holds you.
“The jeans are from the 90s, the skirt is straight out of the 70s, and the looks are as sustainable as can be. Heels, sandals or barefoot like my daughter Apple – you can wear them with anything.’
