Paltrow initially launched Goop in September 2008, as a weekly email newsletter that offered things like New Age advice and an editor’s note from the actress providing insight into her daily life.

For the cover photo, Paltrow has a satisfied look on her face as she stands next to the approaching waves.

In keeping with the all-natural look and feel, the mother-of-two left her blonde locks styled long, straight and flowing down to about the middle of her back with a center parting.

The last photo showed her up close, with bright sun dripping over her golden locks and tanned face.

Paltrow launched the wellness and lifestyle brand and company in September 2008, initially as a weekly email newsletter with things like new age advice and an editor’s note from the actress providing insight into her daily life.

Goop then expanded into e-commerce, partnered with fashion brands, launched pop-up stores, held a ‘wellness summit, launched a print magazine, a podcast, which would be featured in a docuseries for Netflix.

After expanding into e-commerce, Paltrow saw Goop’s value grow to more than $250 million in early 2020

In 2014, Goop faced increasing criticism for marketing products and treatments deemed harmful, including some described as “snake oil” based on pseudoscience.

Officials from California’s Consumer Protection Office have sued Goop for false advertising, alleging the company made unsubstantiated health claims about a variety of products.

The company ultimately settled that particular lawsuit out of court, but other class action lawsuits have been filed against Goop over unsafe products.

With the help of Paltrow’s star power, the company has seen it grow significantly over the years, to the point where it was valued at around $250 million in early 2020.

Goop brands and product lines are sold online, at the Goop Lab at Brentwood Country Mart in Los Angeles, and at pop-up stores in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, The Hamptons, Dallas and Aspen.
