Guy Sebastian and his family thought they had put their troubles behind them in 2022, a year of terror in which the singer’s former manager was jailed, when they embarked on a lavish family vacation in the snowy fields of Japan.
But when the family returned home to Sydney last week, they found themselves in a new legal stoush with an old archenemy: their elderly neighbor.
Just a few days ago, Sebastian, 41, and his wife Jules Egan, 43, posted happy snaps on Instagram showing their visit to Disneyland Tokyo and sightseeing at Mount Fuji.
‘Core Memories Made!’ Egan wrote about the two-week vacation in Japan, above a photo of the family of four smiling in the snow.
“Very grateful to have the opportunity to visit such a beautiful country full of beautiful people, landscapes and of course food.”
In another post, he talked about his week-long trip to the ski town of Niseko, describing the scenery as “breathtaking.”
“I felt like I was living on a movie set,” he wrote.

Sebastian and Egan returned from Japan, where they enjoyed some time on the slopes (pictured) to break into another legal venue, this time with an old neighbor.
On the way home, Egan made a brief stop in Dubai to see Beyoncé perform at the opening of the luxurious Atlantis the Royal hotel.
Things quickly turned sour, however, when the family returned to their multimillion-dollar beachside mansion in Maroubra, in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.
Police on Monday filed an apprehended violence warrant against Phillip Hanslow, 66, on Sebastian’s behalf, prohibiting him from contacting the singer or setting foot on his property.
Hanslow, who now lives in a semi-derelict house in south-west Sydney, faces charges of harassment and property damage after years of escalating tensions came to a head.
The former builder is alleged to have threatened Sebastian with death and is accused of tearing down the billionaire singer’s fence.
Sebastian declined to comment when approached by the Daily Mail Australia on Wednesday.
“It’s a private matter,” his spokesman said.
Meanwhile, Hanslow described the inaugural Australian Idol winner as “not a nice guy”.

Mr. Hanslow no longer lives next door to Sebastian, having left the home his terminally ill wife had owned for 37 years.
The couple now live in a dilapidated property in Carlton with their pet bird, Boo Boo.
But Mr. Hanslow, who was forced into retirement with the painful condition of fibromyalgia, still returns to his Maroubra home to work on renovations.
He is understood to be accused of confronting Sebastian on Monday, allegedly making death threats and damaging the fence.
Another resident witnessed the alleged incident and called the police, who charged Mr. Hanslow with stalking, attempting to cause bodily harm, and damaging property.
He will face Waverley Local Court on February 2.
It comes just months after Sebastian appeared in court to testify against his former manager, Titus Day, who was jailed for embezzling $600,000 from the singer.

Sebastian, once one of Day’s closest friends, wrote an 1,800-word victim impact statement that was delivered after the jury returned their guilty verdict.
“I’m not the same person that I was,” he wrote.
‘I wish I could still see the world the same way, but every day I battle negative thoughts and have to remind myself that not everyone is capable of this.
“I’ve battled anger and resentment and I’m still not even close to being healed.”
Sebastian said that Day’s “sustained deception” led him to the “darkest points” of his life and career.
Day was jailed in November for a minimum of two and a half years in Sydney’s Downing Downtown District Court for withholding parts of Sebastian’s huge music earnings.
