Guy Sebastian reveals the REAL reason he won’t be returning as a coach on The Voice Australia

Guy Sebastian sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry last month when he announced his sudden departure as coach on The Voice Australia.

And on Wednesday the singer, 43, opened up about his decision to quit the hit Channel Seven reality show.

Speak with The Daily TelegraphGuy explained, “I think I’ve been too comfortable… I did it because it’s comfortable.”

‘It’s great for my family life and keeping me at home. I’m always busy and there’s always something on the agenda that keeps me from jumping in with both feet and I think it comes down to this desire to feel uncomfortable again.”

While the show is on screens for a few weeks, production of The Voice lasts six months a year.

Sebastian revealed he wants to shift his focus to touring Australia.

“I want to throw myself into it, but these days I can only throw myself into my music, touring and art in leaps and bounds, and it’s a juggle between fatherhood, being a husband, being a musician, being on TV” Sebastiaan explained.

Guy announced the news on his Instagram account on October 30.

“I have some news to share with you all about my role as a voice coach,” he began.

‘I have made the decision to take a break from the best red chair in the world.

“It’s been six great years as a coach and it was honestly the best performance ever! I have nothing but good things to say about the show itself, and it was a pleasure to share the panel with such great coaches.”

“It's great for my family life and keeping me at home,” he continued. “I'm always busy and there's always something on the calendar that keeps me from jumping in with both feet and I think it comes down to this desire to feel uncomfortable again.”

“I’m busy planning shows in Australia and around the world, and I’m really looking forward to getting out there and connecting with all of you there.”

The Angels Brought Me Here singer concluded by talking about his upcoming album, which he has poured his heart and soul into for the past four years, before ending with a warning.

“Whoever has the audacity to take my seat, don’t get too comfortable… I will struggle back for it without any dignity when I am ready to return,” he wrote.
