Guy Sebastian refuses to show his face at Sydney airport amid neighbor drama

Guy Sebastian refuses to show his face when he lands in Australia after fleeing to Los Angeles during his legal stay with an elderly neighbor.

Guy Sebastian hid behind his hat and mask on Monday while flying to Sydney airport after his elderly neighbor allegedly threatened to kill him.

The 41-year-old Australian Idol winner was escorted by his costumed entourage, who carried his large black suitcase, after flying in from Los Angeles.

Dressed in bright orange pants, a maroon shirt and a black jacket, the singer kept his face hidden under a wide-brimmed beige hat that was pulled low.

For added anonymity, he donned a mask to cover the lower half of his face.

Sebastian had fled to Los Angeles earlier this month after he was allegedly threatened by his elderly neighbor during a confrontation that spilled into the street as long-standing tensions between the couple flared.

He sought an arrest warrant for violence after 65-year-old Phillip Richard Hanslow allegedly threatened to kill him and kicked down a border fence outside his home in the Sydney beachside suburb of Maroubra.

NSW Police confirmed to Daily Mail Australia that officers were called to a Maroubra home at around 1:30pm on January 23 following reports of a dispute in the neighbourhood.

Hanslow was taken to the Maroubra Police Station, where he was charged with stalking with intent to cause bodily harm and damage to property.

They began renovations in 2016, which involved demolishing the original property to build the modern “dream home,” moving in with their two children in June 2019.

Tensions between Hanslow and the Sebastians are understood to date back to late 2016, when renovation and construction began, The Daily Telegraph reported.

Neighbors had complained about the Sebastians’ four-bedroom home, with some describing it as a “fortress” due to its monolithic façade and others even threatening to move out of the area.

A middle-aged couple described the renovations as a “demolition nightmare” after their living room wall was damaged during construction work on the singer’s home.
