Guy Sebastian has revealed his very unique technique to stop his children from throwing tantrums.
The Voice Australia coach, 42, shares sons Hudson, 12, and Archie, nine, with wife Jules, and has given insight into his parenting style and family life.
In his Robin & Kip speech from KIIS 97.3, Guy revealed the surprising method he used to stop his children from throwing tantrums when they were toddlers.
He said he would mimic his son’s tantrums, making them realize how “stupid” they sounded when they “blow up,” prompting them to stop quickly.
He explained: ‘When they exploded, I imitated them. So even if a kid is two or a year and a half old, I think when a kid realizes how stupid it sounds when they blow up.

‘It worked strangely with my children, as if they were shouting and I was doing the same to them.
“It was almost like it was so confrontational for them that they looked at me and just went away, is that what I sound like? And then they just stopped.”
Guy also admitted that he struggled with ‘dad guilt’ while he was busy touring and praised his wife Jules for taking care of their two sons alone while he was away.
“If I go on tour, go away, I would feel so bad because people would think, oh, I’m playing shows every night, it must be so tiring,” he said.
“I’m like, no, no, no, no. Jules does all those things on his own. Yeah, I literally play shows and sleep in a hotel room, you know, with no noise.”

He then spoke about his high school sweetheart Jules, who he married in 2008, describing their relationship as “rare” as he talked about how “lucky” he is to have her.
The singer said, “We’ve been friends since I was twelve years old, you know, we just know each other, grew up like we know we have history. It’s never been like scoring points.
“We’ve just been friends who want each other to win. And yes, I’m lucky, because not everyone has that. It’s quite rare, I think.’
Guy was 18 years old when he first started dating Jules, but they briefly split when he was 21 – ahead of his appearance on Australian Idol – before getting back together.
Speaking about their split last year, Guy told Sunrise: ‘I didn’t think we’d get back together.

“I was 18 when we first got together and I think I was 21 (when we broke up) and she kind of broke my heart.”
“She broke up with me and then Idol happened and I moved to Sydney and I didn’t think we were going to get back together, I wasn’t sure.”
They tied the knot eight years later in a romantic ceremony in Manly and welcomed their son Hudson in 2012, and their second child Archie two years later.
