In the photo after the event, Ms. Howe can be seen with severe bruises on her face, under both eyes and on her nose.
She told the publication that she was hit when Axl, whose real name is William Bruce Rose Jr, threw his microphone into the crowd after finishing the song, Take Me Down To Paradise City.

Rose said she was going to remove her microphone stunt from her regular show. Addressed the situation on Saturday, a program director for the band, saying he will no longer throw the microphone “in the interest of public safety.”
“It has come to my attention that a fan may have been injured at our show in Adelaide, Australia, possibly struck by the microphone at the end of the show when I traditionally throw the microphone at fans,” he wrote.
“If it’s true, obviously, we don’t want anyone to get hurt or in any way hurt anyone at any of our shows anywhere.”
Rose said in an online statement Saturday that she would no longer throw her microphone into the crowd, after doing the stunt for 30 years at the end of every show.
“Having thrown the mic at the end of our show for over 30 years, we always felt it was a familiar part of the end of our performance that the fans wanted and knew they had a chance to catch the mic,” he continued.
“Regardless of the interest of public safety, from now on we will refrain from throwing the microphone or anything at fans during or at our performances.
“Unfortunately, there are those who for their own reasons chose to frame their reporting on this issue in a more negative and irresponsible light out of the blue that couldn’t be further from the truth. We hope that the public and of course the fans understand that sometimes it happens.
‘THANK YOU SO MUCH everyone for understanding.’
