Guests have expressed their outrage after revealing that their Airbnb host gave them an extensive ‘checkout checklist’ asking them to wash dishes and do laundry – despite paying a $150 cleaning fee.
The unnamed visitors took to Reddit to share their frustrations as they revealed the list of tasks they had to complete before checking out.
They noted that they were renting the house in San Antonio, Texas, and while they wanted to clean up after themselves, they felt it was unfair to have to do laundry after already spending money on the imposed fee.
In a thread titled ‘Slightly irritating‘, the anonymous vacationers shared a photo of the cleaning instructions required of them and directed their anger at the Airbnb host, who charged them a $150 cleaning fee.

The visitors claimed that ‘Airbnb is out of control’ before revealing: ‘We paid a $150 cleaning fee to give us these checkout instructions.
“I’m surprised they didn’t want us hanging around to dry the towels and make the beds.”
The checklist asked guests to remove all white linens and comforter from the bed before laying on the floor.
Then, surprisingly, they were asked to do a load of laundry and wash all the white towels with bleach.
Guests were also told to wash and put away all dishes, take food out of the refrigerator, take out the trash and scrub the floors with a Swiffer.
In the comments section, one of the guests noted that they didn’t mind paying the fee, but she didn’t see why they would have to spin or do laundry.
They added: ‘The price didn’t bother me, just the fact that they wanted me to do a lot of cleaning outside of normal cleaning. Of course I do the dishes and take out my trash, but I’m not going to waste money or do laundry with cleaning costs.’
