10 Chambers has just announced this GTFO's latest update, Rundown 8.0 Duality, for its co-op horror shooter at The Game Awards 2023, almost two years after it left Early Access.
This latest update is now available to play and puts an end to the hardcore co-op shooter, where death is just as easy. You can watch the trailer below to get the overview.
In case you were unfamiliar, GTFO tasks up to four players (prisoners) to work together and explore a dilapidated research facility known as The Complex. To get through a Rundown (basically a campaign), they must gather resources to survive, and complete expeditions to fulfill a 'Work Order'.
Most of the time, though, things aren't simple. It's a brutal experience that often has you fighting for your life against deadly, grotesque creatures called Sleepers, who can be woken from their sleep if you're too loud or exposed to light.
This won't be anything unfamiliar to players of the game, after all, the game's Steam store page clearly states: “GTFO is not your typical run-and-gun shooter. It's for players who value a serious challenge.”
I got my hands on Rundown 8 while visiting 10 Chamber's new game, Den of Wolves, and I'm happy to report that it's very tough and should provide even more of a challenge for the masochists playing GTFO.
Elsewhere during The Game Awards, it was confirmed that there will be free DLC for it God of war Ragnarök, titled Walhallawill be released next week on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. The game can be downloaded from Tuesday, December 12.
