- The six students pried open the woman’s door and helped her escape as their math teacher called 911
- The woman was transported to a local hospital with several cuts and bruises, but is expected to be okay
- One of the boys’ teachers called 911 and praised his students for their heroism in saving the woman from the wreck
- The Rome Police Department also praised the students and thanked them for ‘being examples our community can be proud of!’

A group of high school football players in Rome, Georgia jumped into action on the way to school to help a woman trapped inside her smoking car after a serious crash.
The six student-athletes were on their way to class at Rome High School when they noticed an multi-car accident and rushed to help those stuck inside the vehicles.
Wasting no time, Cesar Parker, Treyvon Adams, Antwiion Carey, Messiah Daniels, Tyson Brown and Alto Moore stopped and made their way to the scene, where an unnamed woman, 50, was trapped inside her smoking car due to a jammed door.
‘I had to get out, because I knew it was going to be bad, I could see the car was spun around,’ Trevyvon Adams, one of the players, said of the incident in an interview with Fox 5 Atlanta.
Tyson Brown, another of the six boys that rescued the woman, added: ‘We weren’t really worried about ourselves, we were worried about the woman in the wreck.’

A Rome High School math teacher, Luis Goya, was also on the scene and called 911 as the boys rushed to car.
Pictures and video captured by the school’s camera system captured the harrowing moments.
Goya took to social media to recall the events, saying the boys ‘literally started using their strength to pry the door open, so the lady could be released.
‘After a few seconds of pulling and pushing the door, the boys ended up opening it and helped her get out of the car. She was shaking and still in panic, but our RHS boys gave her comfort and were able to help her.’
Goya added, ‘The Rome High School football players really showed up today. They went above and beyond to help this lady without hesitation,” he continued.’
The Rome Police Department also took to Facebook in the wake of the boys’ heroism, saying ‘Thank you, young men, for being examples our community can be proud of! Lead #likeawolf.’
According to police, the crash involved a small silver car, which was hit after another car pulled out in front of it.
The unnamed woman was transported to a local hospital with several cuts and is expected to be okay.
