Regional music festival Groovin the Moo is going on its first national tour since 2019, but not everywhere
The popular music festival Groovin the Moo is going on a national tour this year, with six shows scheduled across the country in April and May.
It’s the first time in four years that the traveling festival has been able to visit Western Australia since Covid restrictions canceled shows there.
Meanwhile, the festival, which started in 2005, has moved its Queensland concert from Townsville to the Sunshine Coast.
The popular music festival Groovin the Moo is going on a national tour this year, with six shows scheduled across the country in April and May.
In a statement announcing the festival, organizers blamed the change of venue to Queensland on “logistical challenges and increased financial pressures”.
No artists have been confirmed for the shows yet.
The concert series will kick off in Wayville, SA on April 21 before traveling to Maitland, NSW on April 22, followed by a show in Canberra, ACT on April 23.
Next up is Bendigo, Victoria on April 29, ahead of the Sunshine Coast concert on April 30, with the tour ending May 6 in Bunbury, WA.

In 2020, GTM had to cancel all six national dates during April and May due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Last year Groovin the Moo managed to stage concerts in Bendigo, Maitland and Canberra after a Covid outbreak forced shows in Townsville, Wayville and Bunbury to be cancelled.
The 2022 lineup included the Hilltop Hoods, Wolf Alice, Broods, and Middle Kids.

The last few years of the festival have introduced controversial pill tests.
Doctors, chemists and counselors tested the contents of the pills that concertgoers brought to the venue.
Potential drug users are given a clear indication of what their drugs contain.
