Groom is SLAMMED for ‘humiliating’ his bride with a ‘cheap’ prank DURING their wedding vows

A groom’s cruel trick on his bride during their wedding vows has sparked a firestorm of criticism, with one person labeling the ‘prank’ as ‘public humiliation’.

Life coach Shawnda, from Atlanta, Georgia, recently uploaded a clip of an unnamed couple standing together at the altar when the man appeared to try to play a prank on his wife-to-be before things went horribly wrong.

In the video, the groom was told it was time to read his vows and he explained that he had written them down on a piece of paper.

He then pulled a note from his suit pocket and unfolded it as his bride looked on admiringly, her excitement to hear what he was about to say written clearly on her face.

An Atlanta life coach named Shawnda (seen) uploaded a clip of an unnamed couple standing at the altar when the man tried to pull off a prank that seemed to go horribly wrong

In the video, the groom was told it was time to read his vows and he explained that he had written them down on a piece of paper.

He then pulled a note from his suit pocket and unfolded it as his bride looked on admiringly, her excitement to hear what he was about to say written clearly on her face.

But when she discovered that the back of the paper had the words “help me” written in large letters, she seemed completely shocked.

He pretended to be preparing to read his vows from the newspaper and delivered the message to the crowd.

A few people in the audience burst out laughing – including the person recording – as they read the sign, while the rest sat in awkward silence.

The bride’s expression immediately changed from loving to furious. She hit the groom’s arms with her bouquet of flowers as he told her, “I’m just kidding, it’s a joke.”

“It’s not funny,” she started to respond before the video cut off.

Shawnda had a lot to say about the tasteless moment, explaining that she has “no respect” for the “kind of man” who would “humiliate” his bride on her special day in an attempt to get a “cheap laugh.”

“I have no respect for the kind of man who takes that day, that opportunity, to give himself a cheap laugh,” she said.

‘It’s not the time for jokes. A ‘help me’ sign like she’s holding you hostage? The audience was dry.

“It wasn’t even worth it, the juice wasn’t even worth it. Why did you humiliate this woman? So the only woman holding the camera can get a laugh?’

In the caption of her video, which has been viewed more than 852,000 times, she asked: “Was this a harmless joke or a public humiliation?”

His behavior during what should have been a special moment resulted in thousands of comments from people just as outraged as Shawnda.

“Her face… She was crushed,” one person wrote. Another added: “She was so excited to hear those vows too.”

“The way the bride is genuinely excited to hear what he has to say until she realizes it,” someone else said alongside a crying emoji.

“I would have walked away,” read a fourth comment. A fifth added: ‘Why do these people beg for a girl to go out with them, cry when she tries to leave, propose, spend tons of money on a wedding and do this? ‘

However, some people wondered if it was all a ‘skit’ or if it was faked because of the views, but others insisted that it could not have been based on the bride’s reaction, nor the official’s reaction.

“I’d leave him at the altar and see who gets the real humiliation.” True love = respect,” another user commented.

“She probably planned every second of that day for months, and all he put effort into was *THAT*,” another person said.

“Maybe the camerawoman should marry him if she thinks he’s so funny,” someone else joked.

“To spend all that money and your life dreaming of that moment when your partner proclaims his love for you on YOUR DAY just to have him do it is sad,” another comment read.

‘The officer’s face says it all. As a man, he just looks so disappointed and embarrassed and worried about the woman,” one commenter pointed out.
