A groom has been scolded for texting while walking down the aisle after saying “yes.”
While most newlyweds embrace the special milestone surrounded by family and friends, the groom seemed distracted by his phone.
A video of the moment appeared online showing the gorgeous bride smiling from ear to ear and holding hands with her husband, but he barely looked at her.
TikTok user @CynthiaUmunze shared the now-deleted footage and critics held back.
It wasn’t clear what the groom was trying to do, but the assumption was that he was texting.

While most newlyweds embrace the special milestone of getting married, one groom ruined it for himself by being glued to his phone. It’s not clear what the groom is up to, with many speculating he was texting
A video of the moment emerged online showing the gorgeous bride looking radiant with a smile from ear to ear, but the groom barely looked at her
In the clip, the groom doesn’t seem to look away from his phone, barely making eye contact with well-wishers as he walks out of the church.
The only time the couple makes eye contact is when they leave the premises and the bride appears to make a snide remark about his behavior.
The “disrespectful act” did not go down well with others and many felt sorry for the bride.
One of them asked, “What’s so important about being on the phone on his wedding day?”
“It would be one of the most memorable moments but he chose to sit on his phone with her completely happy and enjoying the moment,” added another.
This isn’t the first time a groom has broken wedding etiquette on his own big day.
Last year, an Australian bride caught her now-husband watching football on his phone at their wedding and again at her brother’s wedding.
Blake, 29, from Sydney, propped his phone against their three-tiered wedding cake to watch the match at his wedding reception in August 2020 – and his bride Dani Russell was not pleased.
She said that Blake just can’t miss watching the footy, and that he would never let his great love for the sport get in the way of his wedding day.

Her TikTok video, which has been viewed more than 11 million times, showed Blake’s phone against their three-tiered wedding cake
Dani said: ‘We had to cancel our wedding three times due to COVID and we had no choice but to reschedule for the entire football season.
“I had been planning since we got engaged but had to rush with last minute plans to do it before the pandemic got worse.
‘I wasn’t surprised [that he was watching sport] and I believe his witness put the phone down for him.’
