Memphis Grizzlie’s big man Steven Adams called San Antonio rookie Jeremy Sochan a “dirty bastard” in the closing moments of Wednesday’s game.

The high-flying Grizz eventually knocked down a young Spurs team in overtime 124-122, despite Sochan’s reported distraction tactics on Adams.

Since then, it has been revealed by Adams that the San Antonio youngster pinched his nipple in an attempt to upset the giant New Zealander.

Adams presented his version of events after the game via ESPN NBA reporter Tim MacMahon.

“On the last round of the game he was messing with me – he pinched me and all,” Adams said:.

“I was like, ‘Get out of here, dude!’ He hit my nipple. I was like, “Get out of here, you dirty bastard!” I’m trying to break my concentration.’

Sochan has impressed for the Spurs organization in his rookie season since taking ninth overall in the 2022 NBA Draft.

The 19-year-old, drafted from Baylor, has averaged 7.2 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 12 games of his NBA career.

Adams is in his 10th season in the NBA and second as Grizzlies player after a short stop of a year in New Orleans and seven earlier in Oklahoma City.

He has averaged 6.4 points, 11.5 rebounds – a career record – and 2.4 assists in 12 games.
