Grisly new autopsy details emerge in case of DISMEMBERED mom Mei Li Haskell whose torso was found in an LA dumpster, as coroner is unable to determine if she was actually dead when limbs were removed

Shocking new details from an autopsy report showed that California mother Mei Li Haskell could have been shot in the head, suffocated and suffered trauma before her dismembered body was thrown into a dumpster.

Coroners have detailed the violent and gruesome ways the 37-year-old mother of three suffered before her decapitated and armless torso was found in a plastic garbage bag near her home in Tarzana, California on November 8, 2023.

“The bone edges at the amputation sites were remarkably smooth,” said the report obtained by DailyMail.com. “This suggests that a sharp power tool was likely used to perform these amputations.”

Coroners said Mei Li had been dismembered with a “single sharp force” at the base of her neck, and half of her thighs were still intact and connected to the torso.

‘There was no definitive indication that the mutilation took place antemortem, but the possibility that the removal of the head and neck had begun before death cannot be completely excluded.’

The LA County Department of Medical Examiner’s report found that Mei Li Haskell, 37, was dismembered with a ‘single sharp force’

The 37-year-old mother’s remains were wrapped in a plastic bag and found by a passerby digging through a dumpster not far from where the Haskells lived.

The bag containing Mei Li’s headless torso was found in a duffel bag and thrown into a dumpster behind Ventura Boulevard and Rubio Avenue, near a family-style restaurant, hair salon and two banks.

Although toxicology reports showed there was no evidence of drugs in the remains tested, officials with the LA County Department of Medical Examiners said they also cannot rule out whether or not the 37-year-old mother was poisoned with an unidentified substance.

The coroner ruled the death a homicide and the probable cause was blunt force trauma to the head/neck, possible gunshot wound(s) to the head/neck, or sharp force injury.

They also said Mei Li could have been suffocated.

“Given the circumstances of the case, including the deliberate concealment of the body through mutilation and destruction, the cause of death is homicidal violence,” coroners wrote in the report.

Mei Li’s husband, Samuel Haskell IV, has been charged with murder in the deaths of her parents, mother Yanxiang Wang, 64, and father Gaoshan Li, 72.

LA police sources told DailyMail.com that the parents’ remains have still not been found.
