Kari Lake served Friday night beer at the Iowa State Fair, but Bud Light was literally not on tap.
Prior to her appearance at Steer N’ Stein, a food and alcohol venue at the annual event, the beer taps for Bud light were removed.
Lake spent about an hour at the site. She was at the fair to serve as a surrogate for Donald Trump. She talked about his presidential campaign, handed out new green hats with his label on them, and stopped behind the bar to tap a few pints.
However, the Bud light tab was conspicuously missing after Anheuser-Busch lost $27 billion from a partnership with transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney. Social media posts followed touting the professional relationship between Mulvaney and Bud Light, as well as the months-long storm of backlash still being felt.

A site employee said the Bud Light faucets were removed before Lake arrived. There was a blank space between tabs for Budweiser and Bush Light.
Lake shrugged when asked about his absence and continued to fill beer glasses. She also signed the new hats handed out by the Trump campaign. The hats, bright green with gold lettering, read: “President Donald Trump, back to back Iowa Champ.”

Earlier that day, Lake milked a cow at the Iowa State Fair and argued that the animals prove there are only two sexes — because a bull cannot be milked.
Lake, the Republican who failed to run for governor of Arizona last year, attended the annual event to campaign for Donald Trump.
She stopped by the parlor to push back against what conservatives call “awake” ideas, especially when it comes to one’s gender.
Lake, dressed in jeans and boots, put a stool next to the cow, sat down, and went to work.
“You know, there are only two genders, right?” she said to the many journalists watching her.
“I defy the New York Times reporter and the Washington Post reporter to try to milk a cow and then milk a bull and see how that goes,” she said.
