The devastated father of a slain bodybuilder has revealed his wife was sleeping in the next bedroom when his daughter was allegedly assaulted by her boyfriend.

Monique Lezsak, 39, was allegedly stabbed to death by her partner childhood home in Kassan Gardens in Endeavor Hills in Melbournesouth-east on May 30.

Her partner, 51-year-old German-born Sven Lindemann, has been charged with murder.

Ms. Lezsak’s grieving father, Zoltan Lezsak, told the Announce sun he learned about his daughter’s violent death on the job and that his wife slept in the next room during the ordeal.

“My wife calls at work, they gave me the phone and she told me my daughter was gone,” Mr. Lezsak told the Announce sun.

Mr. Lezsak, an engineer and toolmaker, was too distraught to drive home himself, so a colleague took him.

He told how his wife, Magali, was sleeping in the next bedroom when the alleged stabbing started.

Their 10-year-old granddaughter had tried to stop her mother’s alleged stabbing, in which she suffered injuries.

“She witnessed a lot,” Mr. Lezsak said.

“I never believed she could have done it, but she did. She could have been killed.’

The child then desperately dialed triple-0 from her mother’s phone which she found near her bloodied body.

“She saw her mother’s phone lying around somewhere and as it happened she called the police with all the details about where we live and what was going on,” he said.

The girl was hailed as a “hero” by friends of Mrs. Lezsak after trying to protect her mother.

She is remembered as a devoted mother to her two twins - a boy and a girl. The girl was reportedly injured in the alleged altercation and is in hospital

The couple will now raise their two grandchildren, ten-year-old twins, in the family home where they witnessed their mother’s death.

They have not yet returned to school and will receive ongoing psychological help to deal with their nightmares.

“We’re handling it the best we can,” Mr. Lezsak said.

‘I will raise them. I will do it with pleasure. I will dedicate my life to it, so will my wife (Magali). That is more or less the future.’

He added: “My concern is only these two children and nothing else.”

Mr Lezsak paid tribute to his “absolutely wonderful” daughter.

“Anyone who met her could say the same thing,” he said.

“She was really loved and respected.”
