In 1973, Sidney founded Sidney Frank Importing Company, which allowed him to obtain the import rights for Jagermeister.

He then created Gray Goose in 1997, which he later sold to the Bacardi company for approximately $3 billion in 2004.

He died of heart failure in 2006 at the age of 86.

John, his cousin and vice chairman of the company at the time of the sale, made the decision to build the house with the proceeds from the sale.

He hired famed architect Paul, who worked on the World Trade Center, and it took four years to complete.

“I thought Paul was very creative and had a great sense of symmetry,” John said Bloomberg.

β€œMost importantly, he was a car nut like me, so he was able to help me build a house in the style I wanted, with a great garage and a lot where I could take the cars in and out.”

John went above and beyond when it came to the many lavish facilities in the house; he had three small children at the time.

He continued, β€œI had three children at home. I wanted it to accommodate them, and I wanted privacy.

‘The whole house is remarkable. The windows are all soundproof, the walls are all twice as thick as necessary, not only the outer walls but also the inner walls. The quality of construction is second to none; no expense has been spared.’

Although John has now moved to Florida with his adult children, he remembers hosting β€œmega parties” at home.

β€œWe invited 250 people and the house can handle it just fine,” he said.

‘It’s time to move on. But I’ll tell you, I’ll definitely miss this house, because I’ll never live this well again.”
