Football fans have relentlessly mocked Erling Haaland for his latest haircut and compared the Manchester City star to Greta Thunberg for his ‘pigtails’.
The 22-year-old striker took to Man City training yesterday wearing his bold new braided beret.
The Norwegian comes ahead of tonight’s Champions League game with his former Bundesliga rival Bayern Munich.
The ex-Borussia Dortmund star appeared to be in good spirits as he took part in training exercises ahead of the grand quarter-final.
But fans were quick to berate Haaland for his haircut, comparing him to the 20-year-old Swedish climate change activist, with one saying, “Greta, is that you?”

And fans on social media were quick to joke online about the Norwegian’s haircut, with some saying it resembled the kind of haircut a nine-year-old girl would get
Others compared the striking sensation to a little girl, with one person saying, “Am I the only one who thinks he rocks this 9-year-old girl haircut?” Looking good, bruh.’
Another joked, “Bro rocks that 9 year old girl standard cut.” While a third said, “Greta has gotten really tall, hasn’t she?”
Others shared photos of Greta sporting pigtails similar to Haaland.
Norwegian superstar Haaland has taken the Premier League by storm since his £51 million arrival from Borussia Dortmund.
He has scored an impressive 30 goals and earns nearly £45 million a year – making the young hotshot one of the world’s highest paid footballers.
In December, the star appeared at Man City training sporting pigtails, which fans said showed off his Scandinavian roots.
One excitedly wrote, “Viking is back.” While another posted on social media saying, “Viking mode fully activated.”
Haaland was born in Leeds, Yorkshire, on July 21, 2000. His father, Alfie, was a star player for Leeds United at the time.

After this, Haaland’s family moved back to Norway. His professional football career began with Byrne, the team representing the city where he grew up.
His talents were soon noticed by Molde, a team in the Norwegian top flight, who signed the striker.
Haaland later moved to Red Bull Salzburg and then to Dortmund.
