Greenslopes, Brisbane: Body found in burnt-out car as police probe foul play

A body has been found in a burnt-out car, but police have not ruled out foul play after the gruesome discovery.

The vehicle was set on fire in Pear Street, Greenslopes, South Brisbane, just after 2am on Monday.

The fire brigade quickly brought the fire under control, but a dead person was found in the car.

The burnt vehicle was found in a car park, next to the popular Thompson Estate Reserve and Annerley Football Club, where the area is now a crime scene.

A neighbor said The courier post they saw officers arriving in blue hazmat suits.

“Other officers and a man in a white shirt were taking pictures, they kept moving a lot and had a blue sheet on the table,” they said.

‘Then they put the table under the gazebo and put a white sheet on it.’
