Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong is slammed for holding up Donald Trump HEAD mask during DC concert

Billie Joe Armstrong, the frontman of the rock band Green Day, is in hot water after he held up a Donald Trump mask during his concert in Washington DC, just weeks after the former president nearly died in an assassination attempt.

The 52-year-old rock star was performing at Nationals Park in the nation’s capital on Monday when Armstrong pulled out a Trump mask with the word “idiot” written in black across his forehead, according to photos circulating on social media.

He angrily clutched the mask above his head — a reminder of the time Kathy Lee Griffin posted a video in 2017 of herself holding Trump’s “severed head” covered in blood.

The singer also reportedly changed the lyrics to American Idiot to, “I’m not a part of a MAGA agenda” — a move he also performed during ABC’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve — just before pulling out his mask.

Unlike Griffin, who apologized for the bad joke, Armstrong has not spoken publicly about his shameless performance during his concert.

He has publicly expressed his disdain for the former president in the past, including when he said he would renounce his citizenship after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.

Many have criticized the artist for holding a fake Trump head, just weeks after the 45th president was nearly assassinated in Butler, Pennsylvania, by 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks.

“You have disgraced yourself and lost a fan,” X user David Kaiser wrote.

‘The concert was held in DC. This is just 2 weeks after Trump was shot in the ear at a rally,’ Mario Nawfal pointed out.

‘MISERABLE,’ Brandon Tatum wrote on the platform. ‘Just 17 days after Trump was shot.’

“What a pile of shit,” said one wrote.

Tennessee Republican Rep. Tim Burchett — who recently came under fire for calling Kamala Harris a “DEI hire” — responded to the incident on Xwriting: ‘Green Day used to be anti-establishment, now they’re the establishment.’

Senator Kyrsten Sinema, who was reportedly at the concert last night, has not commented on the incident.

“I rarely look away from the crowd. If I hadn’t done that at that moment, well, we wouldn’t be talking today, right?” Trump said afterward.

Trump’s former doctor, Ronny L Jackson, 57, said it was an ‘absolute miracle he wasn’t assassinated’ by Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20 (pictured)

Trump noted that he had turned slightly to the right so he could read a chart about illegal immigrants. This move ultimately saved his life.

“The most incredible thing was that not only did I turn, but I turned at exactly the right time and to exactly the right degree,” he added, saying he survived “by luck or by God.”

His former doctor, Ronny L. Jackson, 57, said it was “an absolute miracle he wasn’t murdered.”

“I am deeply grateful that his life was spared,” Jackson wrote in a letter earlier this month.

According to the doctor, Trump suffered a two-centimeter gunshot wound from the attempted assassination.
