Punk legends Green Day announce first Australian tour in 8 years – here’s how you can get tickets

Green Day announced Thursday that they will return Down Under for the first time in eight years for their Australian tour.

The American rock band announced on Instagram that they will bring their Saviors stadium tour here in March 2025, after promising to return to the country a year ago.

Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool, who last performed in Melbourne in 2017, will kick off the Australian leg of their tour on March 1 at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium.

On March 3, they will then fly to Engie Stadium in Sydney and on March 5 to CBUS Super Stadium on the Gold Coast.

Green Day is celebrating the 20th anniversary of their breakthrough album Dookie, which was followed up 10 years later, in 2004, by their punk rock opera American Idiot.

Fans can enjoy all the greatest hits since the band’s formation in 1987 in Rodeo, California, up to and including their 2024 album Saviors.

“Australia has always been a big stop for us,” bassist Dirnt said The Daily Telegraph on thursday.

“I feel like you guys really understand rock ‘n’ roll, and it’s great to be around people who… celebrate rock ‘n’ roll and have so many great heroes to their credit.”
