Green Bay Packers fans in meltdown as team makes shock move before playoff game vs Philadelphia Eagles
Green Bay Packers fans fear the worst about quarterback Jordan Love after the team announced a new addition to the active roster ahead of the playoffs.
The Packers said Saturday afternoon that they have signed quarterback Sean Clifford to the active roster ahead of Sunday afternoon’s playoff game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
It comes amid a week of concern about the elbow condition that starting quarterback Love has struggled to overcome.
“This is quite concerning,” one fan wrote in response to the announcement on
Another concerned response simply said: ‘Not what I like to see.’
But Love came off the Packers injury report on Friday, seemingly indicating there are no concerns about the game.
He was injured last weekend in the final game of the regular season against the Chicago Bears, but returned to full practice on Thursday.
Clifford, meanwhile, has been on the Packers’ practice squad all season.
There were also concerns among the Eagles this week about the condition of their starting quarterback Jalen Hurts.
Hurts had been in concussion status since taking a hit in a loss to Washington Commanders in Week 16.
It wasn’t until Friday afternoon that Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said Hurts was ready to play.
