On Saturday afternoon, the golf world was shocked by the death of Murray at the age of 30. His death came about 24 hours after he withdrew near the end of his second round at the Charles Schwab Challenge in Texas.

As tributes continue to flood social media, a video of Murray talking about mental health after winning the AdventHealth Championship on May 21, 2023 was posted to Korn Ferry Tour social media.

“My parents have been through hell and back with me for the past six years, battling a number of mental issues,” he said in the interview. ‘It’s not easy for me and the people around me who love me. They don’t like to see me down.

“Everyone has their struggles,” Murray added. “Sometimes people can hide them and function, and sometimes they can’t.”

Furthermore, Murray expressed his gratitude to today’s society for removing the negative stigma in addressing mental health issues.

Before the video, another meaningful piece remembering Murray’s life surfaced when a photo of him and Jordan Spieth from 2010 circulated on X.
