Gravity Falls Creator Wrote New Bill Cipher Book for 'Older Readers'

There's a new one Gravity falls book on the way, and this time it's all about everyone's favorite evil and triangular demon, Bill Cipher. Creator (and also the voice of Bill) Alex Hirsch, announced the project on Twitter, with a glitchy little teaser showing the very demonic-looking book.

“Against all the laws of physics, logic and good taste,” he wrote, “Bill Cipher has somehow managed to write a book. This can't be good. Bill's Book invades bookstores in July!”

In case you're not familiar with it Gravity falls According to lore, Bill Cipher is the chaotic interdimensional demon bent on warping reality to his own whims, serving as the series' main antagonist. As twins Mabel and Dipper Pines explore the strange town where their great-uncle lives, they discover dark secrets that point back to Bill. Bill's Book is written from Bill's perspective and discusses his own origins, as well as some of Pines' embarrassing family secrets.

But what really sets this book apart from the other companion material to Gravity Falls is that it is aimed specifically at an older audience. The official age category on the Disney Books website it is listed as 'mature', while others Gravity falls material was usually in the “9-12” age range. Color me incredibly intrigued.

Bill's Book will be released in July. Both seasons of Gravity falls streaming on Disney Plus.
