Grave fears for missing diver who vanished 800 metres off the coast

Police are urgently searching for a diver who has gone missing off the Gascoyne coast in Western Australia.

The 30-year-old man was last seen on Tuesday afternoon near Red Bluff at Quobba Station, approximately 970km north of Perth.

The man did not resurface while fishing and diving with two friends about 800 meters from the shore.

Friends of the man alerted police to his disappearance.

Specialized diving teams have been sent to the area to locate the man.

The crews are coordinating the search for the missing diver.

Volunteers from the Marine Rescue Service from South Carnarvon also came to Red Bluff to assist with the search.

A drone was also used during the work.
