Grant Denyer reveals shocking health diagnosis and says doctors warned him he was going to die if he didn’t change his lifestyle: “My organs were working at seven percent”

Grant Denyer has revealed how doctors warned him he was going to die if he didn’t change his lifestyle.

The 45-year-old said he “could do whatever he wanted from wherever he wanted” following his success on television, but living a whirlwind life took a toll on his health and he ended up with chronic fatigue syndrome.

‘I wasn’t listening to my body; I had massive chronic fatigue,’ he said 7News on Tuesday.

Grant Denyer revealed that he had ‘massive chronic fatigue’ and doctors warned him that he was going to die if he didn’t change his lifestyle.

“There was a point there where I went to the doctor and they looked at my organs and they tested all of them and they said they were about seven percent working.”

‘And they told me, ‘if you don’t do something, drastically, you’re going to die, and soon.’” That’s when I thought, holy sh*t, this is serious, I need to do something about it.

Grant explained how he “forgot about success and grades” and began to focus on his health.

The 45-year-old told 7News on Tuesday that he “could do whatever he wanted from wherever he wanted” following his success on television, but living a fast-paced life took a toll on his health.

It comes after Grant revealed how his battle with perfectionism has affected his life and career.

The former Sunrise meteorologist said in July that he struggles with the “fear of not being good enough” but has developed effective coping strategies.

Grant, a two-time Dancing with the Stars winner, said in a candid Instagram post: “I have flaws, I have a lot of weaknesses, I struggle.”

He then explained how meditation helped.

‘I am a work in progress. I suffer from perfectionism, but with things like meditation or self-improvement I’m not aiming for perfection, just progress. That’s enough,’ she added.

It comes after Grant revealed how his battle with perfectionism has affected his life and career.

Grant’s television career has been full of ups and downs.

His perfectionism saw him twice crowned the winner of Channel Seven’s Dancing with the Stars, in 2006 and 2022.

She also hosted the competitive dance series from 2019 to 2020 on Channel 10.

Grant has struggled with an addiction to painkillers in the past, after breaking his back in a freak monster truck accident in 2008.

And in 2014 he checked into a wellness center in Thailand with his wife Chezzi.

The former Sunrise meteorologist said he struggles with the “fear of not being good enough” but has developed effective coping strategies, including meditation.
